Asturian pre-Romanesque art, developed between the 8th and 10th centuries, is a unique style that combines Visigothic, Carolingian and local influences. Monuments such as Santa María del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo in Oviedo stand out, with elegant architecture and geometric and vegetal decorations. Later, the Asturian Romanesque, which emerged in the 11th century, incorporated elements characteristic of this European style, such as barrel vaults and sculpted capitals, evidencing the artistic evolution of the Kingdom of Asturias.
